Class Template Lookup in POS
In Connected Business POS, the ability to use a class template has been added to automatically define default customer data such as customer type, pricing, currency code, etc. The class template can be assigned and changed when creating new customers and ship to in Connected Sale.
Allow Class Template Lookup
To allow or restrict changing of Class Template in Connected Sale Desktop POS:
- From the POS main menu, click Settings to load the POS Settings window.

- From the General tab, tick the Allow Change Class Template checkbox. If you want to restrict changing of class template for new customers, simply untick the checkbox.

- Click OK to save your preference.

Only POS users with Admin Roles have the ability to enable/disable the Allow Change Class Template preference.
Change Default Class Template for New Customer / Ship To
When enabled in the POS Settings, users are allowed to change the default class template when creating new customer and ship to records. To change the default class template when creating a new customer:
- Click the dropdown arrow right beside the default customer template and select Create Customer. The Create Customer window will be displayed. Enter the customer details as needed.

- After entering the customer details on the form, click the Class button. The Class Template Lookup list will be displayed.

To search for the class template, you can either:
- Search by field – Search for the class template by class code, country (commonly used) or default price. Enter keywords in the search control field and click Search.

- Filter by categories – Click the filter icon right beside the category column to display the filter window. Set the filter criteria and click Filter.

- Assign the preferred Class Template for the new customer, and click Select. The Terms and Tax field will be automatically updated based on the defined tax code and terms of the selected class template.

- Click Create to proceed with the saving of the new customer record.
You can also apply the same procedure for changing the default class template for new Ship Tos.

If you want to modify the assigned class template and other details for the new customer or new ship to, you can do so from the Customer Detail form of the Connected Business backend. Go to Customer module > Find Customer and select the newly-created customer to load the Customer Detail form.
